VFI®-711 Foam Roof Patch

VFI-711 Foam Roof Patch is a two-component, 4 PCF spray applied foam packaged in cartridges. Designed for use with the VFI-7500 Qwik Spray Gun, it is useful for repairing sections of damaged or missing foam on a roof. Difficult-to-repair areas can be quickly foamed without the need for a larger machine. Since VFI-711 has excellent adhesion, it can be used almost anywhere on a roof that requires foam repair.

Instructions for Use:

Surface Preparation

Surface preparation will depend on the conditions of the substrate. Remove any surface contaminants detrimental to the adhesion of the foam patch. Use a broom to sweep dirt, dust, and debris. A power washer may be used on tougher stains.

Application

VFI-711 Foam Roof Patch requires a plural component spray gun with dual 750 mL cylinders like the VFI-7500 Qwik Spray Gun. To use the gun, an air compressor that can provide a minimum of 100 PSI and 10 CFM of constant pressure is needed.

Mixing VFI-711 is only required if the material is visibly separated. If separation is visible, shake the cartridges until a uniform mix is achieved. The application temperature should be between 40°F – 100°F. Yield will decrease with temperatures lower than 70°F. Bring the material temperature to a minimum of 65°F before spraying. Apply the foam patch to all areas that are missing foam.

Cleanup

To clean residue on the Qwik Spray Gun, VFI recommends using xylene or MEK. Do not soak the gun in any solvent.

*Always read the safety data sheet before working with chemicals

Use chemicals only as directed and for their intended purpose. Do not dispose of chemicals down the drain. Most chemicals must be disposed of as hazardous waste.

PPE to avoid all unnecessary exposure:

  • Conditions to avoid – heat and incompatible materials.
  • Chemical stability – stable under normal storage conditions.
  • Reactivity & hazardous reactions – The VFI-711 A side will react with water but otherwise there are no dangerous reactions known under normal use
  • Hazardous decomposition products – may include, and are not limited to, oxides of carbon.
