VFI®-8002 Silicone Pump Flush

VFI-8002 Silicone Pump Flush is a single-component liquid flushing material for quickly removing residual silicone material from spray equipment. The maintenance and cleaning of your spray equipment is important to keep it running efficiently. Keeping unused materials inside your spray equipment can shorten the life of the lines if it’s not cleaned out properly after each use. After spraying silicone through your equipment, use VFI-8002 to thoroughly clean your machine.

VFI-8002 Silicone Pump Flush from VFI is a single-component liquid flushing material for quickly removing residual silicone material from spray equipment.

Features & Benefits

  • Is considered a Non-Hazardous material
  • High enough viscosity to effectively flush out all necessary lines
  • Keeps equipment running efficiently and effectively
  • Helps to remove curing silicone to prevent damage to spray equipment

Instructions for Use:

Application

Silicone cures by reacting with moisture and should not be left in spray guns, transfer pumps, or hoses. Use VFI-8002 to purge the silicone material out of the spray equipment. Use a separate waste bucket to catch the material that comes out of the machine. When a clear stream of the pump flush begins to come out, turn off the transfer pump. Stop using the pump flush once the liquid gets heavy with the silicone product. An air purge is recommended to fully clean out the curing silicone. This should only be done if the line is clear; otherwise, it will build up pressure if there is a block in the line.

Cleanup

Wipe down the exterior of the transfer pump with a clean rag. Dispose of the material and containers in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Avoid or minimize generating waste wherever possible.

Safety

*Always read the safety data sheet before working with chemicals

Use chemicals only as directed and for their intended purpose. Do not dispose of chemicals down the drain. Most chemicals must be disposed of as hazardous waste.

PPE to avoid all unnecessary exposure:

  • Hand protection – wear appropriate chemically resistant gloves (nitrile, butyl, or neoprene)
  • Eye protection – wear safety glasses with side shields or safety goggles to avoid splash hazards
  • Body protection – wear suitable protective clothing
  • Respiratory protection – in case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Respirator selection must be based on known or anticipated exposure levels, the hazards of the product, and the safe working limits of the selected respirator

Product Limitations

  • Incompatible materials – strong oxidizing agents
  • Conditions to avoid – heat and incompatible materials
  • Chemical stability – stable under normal storage conditions
  • Reactivity & hazardous reactions – no dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use
  • Hazardous decomposition products – may include, and are not limited to, oxides of carbon

Potential Health Hazards

  • May cause irritation after inhalation.
  • May cause skin irritation after skin contact.
  • May cause eye irritation if in contact with the eyes.
  • May cause stomach distress, nausea, or vomiting if swallowed.

*If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, seek medical advice or attention. Call a poison control center or doctor if swallowed.
