Celebrating 30 Years of VFI

VFI 30 year anniversaryVolatile Free, Inc. is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2025, and we’re reflecting on the many years the company has been successfully manufacturing thermoset polymers. From moving locations to diving into new markets, we are still growing and expanding into bigger and better things every year.

Company & Website Changes

In more recent years, VFI went through a handful of changes, including the introduction of a refreshed logo and new brand colors. After that revamp, we started to update all our product pages and technical data sheets to provide our customers with the most information possible for success when using our products. You can now find thorough instructions on all products and frequently asked questions on our most popular lines.

We’ve also been able to start providing even more information on what we do, recommend, and offer through blogs and articles, which you can check out here. There are a handful of how-tos, tech pieces, and tips on polyurethanes, polyureas, and hybrids to help you succeed in using our materials.

Product Updates

We’ve introduced several new products, including the industry’s first urethane hard coat in a cartridge-style format for spraying EPS structures that is capable of passing ASTM E84 Class A fire testing. It became a popular system for theming fabricators who wanted to break into spraying, as the VFI-7500 Qwik Spray Gun is portable, cost-effective, and easy to use.

We also introduced our premier polyurethane rubber line with best-in-class release characteristics. With little change in the polyurethane market over the past few decades, VFI’s in-house lab team worked to create a novelty molding rubber with similar release characteristics to silicone. This was a breakthrough product in the concrete casting industry, lowering production breakage rates substantially.

Another stellar product we started to offer was a form coating epoxy. Since we’re in the business of protecting and providing longevity to various surfaces, this material has been a necessity in the decorative precast market. It acts as a barrier on expensive steel and wood surfaces to protect them from the abrasive effects of concrete, lengthening the life of the form.

Because we have a heavy focus on custom formulation, we’ve also been able to develop unique coatings, rubbers, and plastics for specific applications. If you can’t find what you’re looking for on the website, contact VFI to start a conversation so we can work to formulate something specific to meet your needs.

Looking Forward

In the coming years, our goal is to offer the same high-quality products with accurate properties we’ve been making while continuing to add to existing lines and break into new markets. We’re also committed to providing the same level of customer service and technical support we’re known for.

We want to thank our loyal customers for their continued business over the years and our staff for their hard work and dedication to the company. We couldn’t have done it without any of you. And there are more exciting updates to come, so stay tuned! Here’s to another 30 years!
