Systems

Hybrid Polyurethane Foam Roof System

A hybrid silicone and polyurethane roofing system with insulating foam is a premier strength and energy saving system for a roof. The spray polyurethane foam is extremely energy efficient which delivers cost savings in the form of decreased energy costs. There is also a “green” benefit associated with silicone/foam systems as they replace the need to “tear off” an existing roof that is not only costly but poses environmental risks with landfill disposal. Volatile Free, Inc. manufactures VFI®-727 HFC Spray Polyurethane Foam that provides a smooth monolithic layer that is easy to topcoat. The 3 PCF spray polyurethane roofing foam provides the necessary strength to walk on, while still maintaining a high R value for insulation. VFI®-3600F Fast Polyurethane Base Coat provides strength and puncture resistance from hail to form a high tensile, highly flexible urethane basecoat. The recommended topcoat is VFI®-990 High Solids Silicone to provide exceptional UV properties, resistance to ponding water, and a room temperature cure (RTV) for use with strict VOC limitations. The Hybrid Polyurethane Foam Roof System provides the necessary attributes to make an energy efficient, leak proof membrane that offers immediate, long-term savings.

Silicone Polyurethane Foam Roof System

A silicone and foam roofing system is an extremely energy efficient and green system as it provides cost savings to the owner in the form of decreasing energy costs and does not require a roof tear off. Our polyurethane roofing foam is a spray applied 3 PCF foam that provides a smooth monolithic layer that is easy to topcoat. A PCF foam provides the necessary strength to walk on, while still maintaining a high R value for insulation. Our recommended topcoat is one of our silicone products either our standard solids silicone when you want to roll on the coating for an extremely smooth even finish or our high solids silicone when you have VOC limitations and you are spraying the product. Both silicones provide exceptional UV properties, resistance to ponding water and a room temperature cure (RTV). The silicone polyurethane foam roof system provides the necessary attributes to make an energy efficient leak proof membrane that can save money immediately and long term.

High Solids Silicone Roof System

Volatile Free, Inc. provides a very functional and easy to apply Low VOC High Solids Silicone Roof System. In this system we use silicone chemistry to provide a room temperature curing (RTV) silicone creating a monolithic membrane on a roof to prevent leaks and UV degradation, and in combination with a primer provides excellent adhesion. Silicone is a premiere roofing product, because of the ability to resist ponding water and any standing water. Our Sealguard® 990 High Solid Silicone can work both as a topcoat and a basecoat to provide consistent properties throughout and insure proper adhesion throughout the layers. 990 high solid silicone is recommended to be used in white but can come in other colors depending on your need or your customers’ need. Although we have excellent adhesion to most substrates with our High Solid Silicone, we recommend the use of a primer for most application to insure proper adhesion. #11 Epoxy primer is our general recommendations for most substrates, and it comes in a salmon color and a convenient 5 gallon kit that allows you to mix without an additional bucket.

Standard Solid Silicone Roof System

Volatile Free, Inc. provides a very functional and easy to apply standard solids silicone roof system. In the system we use silicone chemistry to provide a room temperature curing (RTV) silicone that creates a monolithic membrane on a roof to prevent leaks and UV degradation and in combination with a primer provides excellent adhesion. Silicone is a premiere roofing product, because of the ability to resist ponding water and any standing water. Our Sealguard® 991 Standard Solid Silicone can work both as a topcoat and a basecoat to provide consistent properties throughout and ensure proper adhesion throughout the layers. 991 standard solids silicone is recommended to be used in white but can come in other colors depending on your need or your customers need. We have excellent adhesion using the standard solid silicone, because of a solvent content that can bite into substrates to provide better adhesion. Standard silicone requires adhesion patch testing, when required we recommend #11 Epoxy primer for most substrates. The #11 epoxy primer comes in a salmon color and a convenient 5-gallon kit that allows you to mix without an additional bucket.

Acrylic/Silicone Hybrid Roof System

Volatile Free, Inc. manufactures an Acrylic/Silicone Hybrid System that combines the best performance characteristics of acrylic and silicone liquid applied roof coating products. VFI®-640-1 Gray Acrylic Coating is used to anchor non-woven polyester fabric to any clean, dry substrate. Once the fabric is set, a second layer of VFI-640-1 is applied on top of the fabric, successfully waterproofing the layer and providing structural reinforcement to the coating system. SEALGUARD VFI®-991 Standard Solids Silicone exhibits a superior bond to existing coatings and spray foam systems without a need for primer and is widely used in recoat applications. Standard solids silicone can work both as a topcoat and a basecoat to provide consistent properties throughout and to insure proper adhesion between layers. SEALGUARD VFI-991 is primarily offered in white for enhanced reflectivity but is also available in other colors depending on the need of the customer. The Acrylic/Silicone Hybrid System is unique to the liquid applied roofing industry and is exclusive to Volatile Free, Inc. and VFI approved distributors.

Acrylic Roof System

Volatile Free, Inc. manufactures a high quality, easy to apply, Low VOC Acrylic System. Water-based acrylic chemistry provides a cost-effective product with easy single component packaging that can be applied by brush, roller, or spray. VFI®-640-1 Gray and VFI®-605-1 White elastomeric acrylic produces a seamless, permanently flexible, UV stable membrane to prevent leaks and protect a wide variety of existing roof substrates from UV degradation and continued weathering and temperature swings. Using a two-color system, VFI-640-1 Gray/605-1 White to apply the acrylic helps to ensure even coverage. VFI®-#11 Epoxy Primer is our general recommendation for most substrates, and it comes in a salmon color with a convenient 9:1 mix ratio, 5-gallon kit that allows mixing without an additional bucket. The acrylic system provides a high-quality alternative to silicone coatings on roofs with acceptable slope and drainage.
