VFI®-727 HFC Spray Polyurethane Foam is a 3 pounds per cubic foot density HFC blown roofing insulation foam that is designed to be top coated. With excellent adhesion to most substrates, VFI-727 can coat almost any type of roof. Different speed variations are available to make the spray polyurethane foam accessible no matter where or when you spray. When used with a VFI approved top coat, VFI-727 will create a seamless monolithic roof that is fully waterproofed and insulated. Product Details

  • UV Stability: This product is NOT UV color stable and has no long-term UV testing. For additional information contact Volatile Free, Inc.
  • Coverage/Thickness Requirement: Contact Volatile Free, Inc. for thickness requirements and specifications.
  • Storage Stability/Shelf Life: 12-month shelf life from date of manufacture when stored and sealed in unopened containers between 40°F - 75°F. Opened containers may be resealed with a nitrogen purge, but shelf life will be significantly shortened. Material should be brought to a minimum temperature of 65°F before use.
  • Equipment: For instructions and equipment requirements, contact Volatile Free, Inc.
  • Surface Preparation: All surfaces should be cleaned, prepped and free of any oils, dirt or debris. Contact Volatile Free Inc. with any additional questions.
  • Mixing: Pre-mixing Poly (B) components until uniform is required before injecting or spraying. Mix times may vary depending on volume and mixing method, please contact Volatile Free, Inc. for more information on any specific mixing questions and requirements.
  • Material Application: Temperature should be between 50°F and 100°F when the product is being used. The pot life will shorten with any increases in temperature beyond 72°F. Contact Volatile Free, Inc. for more information on recommended release agents or sealants.
  • Primers: Contact Volatile Free, Inc. on any primer questions.
  • Cleanup: Preferred clean-up solvent is xylene or MEK. Please contact Volatile Free, Inc. for more information on clean-up of equipment and tools.
  • Thinning: Do not thin prior to application.
  • Precautions: This product contains a chemical blowing agent and should be kept out of direct sunlight to prevent the buildup of pressure. Release bungs slowly before use to relieve any built-up pressure within the container. Contains isocyanate that may be irritating to the skin and is toxic if inhaled as particulate matter. See Safety Data Sheet for complete safety data. Do not add any foreign material to this product. Avoid prolonged breathing of vapors and prolonged or repeated skin contact. Silicone Polyurethane Foam Roof System

A silicone and foam roofing system is an extremely energy efficient and green system as it provides cost savings to the owner in the form of decreasing energy costs and does not require a roof tear off. Our polyurethane roofing foam is a spray applied 3 PCF foam that provides a smooth monolithic layer that is easy to topcoat. A PCF foam provides the necessary strength to walk on, while still maintaining a high R value for insulation. Our recommended topcoat is one of our silicone products either our standard solids silicone when you want to roll on the coating for an extremely smooth even finish or our high solids silicone when you have VOC limitations and you are spraying the product. Both silicones provide exceptional UV properties, resistance to ponding water and a room temperature cure (RTV). The silicone polyurethane foam roof system provides the necessary attributes to make an energy efficient leak proof membrane that can save money immediately and long term.

Hybrid Polyurethane Foam Roof System

A hybrid silicone and polyurethane roofing system is a premiere strength and energy saving system for a roof. Using our 727 polyurethane 3 PCF roofing foam provides a smooth monolithic layer that is easy to topcoat and gives the building a higher energy efficiency. The foam is then coated with 3600 polyurethane, an extremely durable basecoat, to create a tough urethane layer over the foam to prevent hail damage and leaks. The 3600 can be spray applied or rolled, depending on the speed needed or available equipment. Sealguard® 990 high solids silicone is then applied as the topcoat to provide UV stability and protection against ponding water. Using these three products as a system provides the strengths of each product and removes the weaknesses of each product. This system is best used when a premium roof system is required to stand up to UV degradation and severe hail. These products when sprayed can all be applied same day making this a quick and efficient roofing process that will provide a lasting result.
