New Urban Row House Development in Nashville Utilizes VFI Deck Coating Products

Ludlow Row is a new residential development located in the historic Buena Vista neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee. Buena Vista is quickly becoming one of Nashville’s trendiest neighborhoods, located steps away from highly acclaimed restaurants, eclectic shops, and exciting nightlife!

The development consists of 30 finely appointed row houses designed with functional layouts and elegant modern finishes. One of the prominent features of these homes are the spacious private rooftop decks with views of the Nashville skyline.

Commercial Construction & Renovation reached out to Volatile Free, Inc. as they were looking for a waterproofing system to coat over the structures plywood roof decking. After consulting with VFI, Sales Director, John Bower, Commercial Construction & Renovation decided to utilize a system that consisted of VFI-640-1 Elastomeric Base Coat and VFI-3221 Acrylic Concrete Coating.

First, a base coat of VFI-640-1 was put down over the plywood decking with 40″ fabric on top. The fabric was reinforced by applying another coat of VFI-640-1 being rolled over the top side of the fabric.

Next two layers of VFI-3221 in light gray were rolled out onto the roof. Once the coating was dry, tape lines were utilized as a stencil to make a pattern that resembled wood decking.

Two passes of VFI-3221 in dark gray were laid down as the topcoat to the decking system. The finished project provided Commercial Construction & Renovation a waterproof solution that is both functional and visually appealing.
