Victory Christian Center is a well known church and school located in Tulsa Oklahoma. Anyone familiar with Tulsa will tell you the center has a prominent presence as you pass it on Lewis Avenue.
The existing roof started to degrade around the metal flashing, due to ponding water. Capstone Roofing received a call from Victory Christian Center to come out and inspect the roof. Upon inspection Capstone realized this project provided a higher degree of difficulty than most.
The existing roof consisted of multiple substrates and needed a coating system that would adhere to various surfaces. Capstone Roofing was tasked with meeting school regulations and working around school and church functions.
Capstone Roofing consulted with Volatile Free, Inc. (VFI) representative, Adam Scheafbauer to come up with a solution that would be aesthetically pleasing, while still providing maximum performance. The products selected were:
-VFI-#11 Epoxy Primer
-SEALGUARD VFI-990 Silicone.
Proper surface preparation occurred before installing SEALGUARD VFI-990 Silicone. In order to insure all dust, dirt and debris were removed, Capstone cleaned and power washed the roof using appropriate surface cleaners.
Next VFI-#11 Primer was applied to provide excellent adhesion to various substrates including, metal and single-ply surfaces.
Repairs around the roof’s seams and penetration points were made using reinforcing polyester fabric, insuring that no water penetration would occur.
A finish coat of SEALGUARD VFI-990 Silicone was sprayed in accordance to VFI specs.
SEALGUARD VFI-990 Silicone extended the roofs useful life while providing an aesthetically appealing solution to combat degradation and ponding water.
